Zaragoza Trams joins the growing list of Spanish customers relying on a TELTRONIC TETRA digital radio solution
The inaugural line of the new Zaragoza City Tramway has been launched, supported by a modern radiocommunications system supplied by TELTRONIC.
TELTRONIC, a leading company in the transport sector, has supplied and put into operation the new TETRA radiocommunications system which underlies communications for the first line of the Zaragoza City tramway, in TELTRONICs home town.
The TETRA system was supplied by the Zaragoza Tramway Construction consortium and includes a fully redundant controller, with a SIP connection to 2 VoIP PABXs, 4 TETRA NEBULA base stations, a transport network made up of a ring configuration of 15 and 23 GHz links and on-board tram radio equipment, including a modern Operator Console with user interface as well as personal radio units.
The network is used mainly for the transmission of data from the Operations Aid System (SAE in Spanish) between the trams and the Operations & Control Centre, including periodic location service, traffic parameters, open and pre-defined text messages, as well as call requests (normal, urgent and emergency) and the activation of the PA (public address) system.
This home town project consolidates TELTRONICs leadership position in the Spanish market, not only in the Public Safety & Emergency sectors where its successes have been highly visible in recent years, but also in the Transport sector.
