Wantagh Fire Gives Zetron’s MAX Dispatch Rave Reviews

The Wantagh Fire District in Wantagh, New York, is showering generous praise on their new Zetron MAX Dispatch System. They are using the system to monitor and control operations remotely from their central dispatch office. The IP-based system connects over an IP network to monitor and manage Wantagh’s five fire stations and two administrative buildings, only one of which is regularly staffed because Wantagh is a volunteer fire department. Todd Grim, an engineer with All Service Controls, the Zetron reseller enlisted to help install the new system for Wantagh, explains some of the reasons why MAX Dispatch was chosen for the project. “Each of Wantagh’s facilities has about 50 alarms that come back through the console to alert the dispatcher if there are any issues,” he says. “The dispatchers also control doors and many other remote functions from the console. And when fire or emergency services are needed, tones from the console trip the volunteers’ pagers and summon them to the fire house. The MAX Dispatch system was chosen for its ability to support all of this auxiliary functionality. In addition, the MAX Dispatch system’s network and power redundancy are the highest in the industry. None of its competitors offers this.”

Wantagh Fire District superintendent, Mike Antonucci, has high praise both for the system and those who helped install it. “I did plenty of research on the systems out there,” he says. “I was also a dispatcher for 25 years, and in my opinion, MAX is the best dispatch system available.
