Volvo drives ahead with Sepura
Volvo Car Corporation chooses Sepura TETRA radios for its Gteborg factory in Sweden. The radios are part of a TETRA communications solution supplied to the prominent car manufacturer by Swedish Radio Supply AB, Sepura’s official distributor in Sweden.
The TETRA communications system will be implemented for the Gteborg plant’s production and maintenance departments, replacing the existing communication platform which had been in place since 1987. The plant has approximately 55,000 employees and the current production capacity stands at 70-80 cars/hour.
Volvo was founded in Gteborg by Gustaf Larson and Assar Gabrielsson in 1927 whose vision focussed on “safety as the organisation’s main guiding principle. This commitment generated Volvo’s core values of security, quality and respect for the environment which define the car manufacturer’s operations, products and actions.
“Quality is one of the guiding principles at Volvo and it isn’t surprising that high standards are expected from suppliers and all equipment installed at their premises. Sepura radios clearly met their criteria on every level” says Jonas Hoke, account manager for Swedish Radio Supply.
Kenneth Hbner, Regional Director for Sepura commented: “Volvo puts customers’ safety first and by choosing Sepura radios it confirms that employees’ safety is an equally vital principle”.
