Thessaloniki’s ambulance service selects Sepura
17 March 2008 Sepura has secured its first contract with an emergency services organisation in Greece, to supply TETRA digital radios to the National Ambulance Service in Thessaloniki, via its Greek Distributor, ANCO.This follows the lead of many other ambulance services throughout the world that are deploying Sepura’s ambulance solution.
Grigoris Papakonstantinou, Radio Communications Manager of ANCO, said: “Migration from our existing analogue radio technology will take just two weeks, delivering asignificant overall improvement in communications and the service that the community can expect to receive from us.The clarity of voice calls will be much improved and dispatched instructions, using a short data service, will add speed to working operations.GPS will enable emergency vehicles to reach the ill or injured more quickly, and to allow for more effective use of resources.”
Emanuele Algieri, Sepura’s Regional Sales Director, said: “This contract is an important step forward for Sepura in Greece, and it once again shows how we can provide the ideal communications solution for public safety users in ambulance services.”
