TETRA solution from Hytera Mobilfunk secures the Bolivarian Games in Peru

Hytera Mobilfunk confirms the commitment with the Peruvian government to provide a secure TETRA system for the Bolivarian Games 2013.

This year’s Bolivarian Games, the major international multi-sport event in Latin-America, will be held in Peru from November 16th to 30th, 2013. Organizing and securing this major sport event, the Peruvian government will provide a powerful TETRA communication for all sport events across the two venues Trujillo and Lima.

The ACCESSNET®-T IP TETRA system from Hytera Mobilfunk coordinates the emergency response of public safety organizations and public safety subscribers. The professional mobile radio system also includes Hytera TETRA DWS dispatchers, APD TETRA dispatchers and a customized AVL/APL system for dynamic group assignment and geographical location of public safety subscribers and smart patrols.

During the Bolivarian Games 2013 the TETRA system will be used by the different public safety organizations to ensure safety and fast coordination. The system has been designed to provide secure communications between the cities in order to work as a TETRA nation-wide network. Nevertheless, the system is also able to work as an independent single-city TETRA communications network. Hundreds of PT580H Hytera TETRA hand-held terminals and Hytera MT680 mobile terminals have been distributed into the different public safety organizations to ensure the safety and fast coordination of the games. Hytera Mobilfunk GmbH office in Peru wishes “happy, secure and glorious Bolivarian Game to all athletes and visitors!”

The Bolivarian Games are held since 1938 in honor of Simón Bolívar, a military and political leader during the Latin American struggle for independence. In 2013, for the first time in the history of the games, besides the six ODEBO nations (Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Venezuela and Peru) Chile, Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Paraguay will participate. In the following weeks Peru will be the host for approximately 5,000 athletes.
