Teltronic supplies the TETRA network for the line 2 of Madrid Metro
October 2007: The Spanish manufacturer TELTRONIC has supplied to MADRID METRO the first phase of the TETRA digital trunked system for the line 2. The project includes an Inter System Interface over-the-air which allows the transparent interoperability with the existing MOTOROLA DIMETRA infrastructure, installed in other lines of MADRID METRO.
The TELTRONIC NEBULA technology allows using ETHERNET/IP networks without limitations to connect base stations. The new over-the-air interface, called CISIS, allows for the first time in the international market a transparent operation of infrastructures supplied by two different manufacturers. This project confirms TELTRONIC as the leading company in the field of professional mobile radio at a worldwide level.
TELTRONIC has supplied during the last five years to MADRID METRO more than 600 on board TETRA subsystems for the trains, which allow improving the security of the service. Operations like the remote activation of the emergency braking, on board fire extinguishers, ambience listening and many other functionalities became possible.
