TCCA represents all standard mobile critical communications technologies and complementary applications. Our Members are drawn from end users, operators and industry across the globe. We believe in and promote the principle of open and competitive markets worldwide through the use of open standards and harmonised spectrum.
The CEO is responsible for executing the strategy agreed by the Board. He/she manages the business of the Association taking care of the financial resources, personnel and subcontract staff on a day to day basis, and brings policies, plans and recommendations to the Board for decision. This is a varied role that requires in-depth knowledge and extensive experience of working in the critical communications sector. Liaison with bodies such as 3GPP, BAPCO, PSCE, NTIA, and ETSI is required to further the objectives of the Association.
TCCA’s work and progress is based on Members providing resources and knowhow to various volunteer Working Groups (WGs). The CEO will oversee this work and provide guidance to the various WG as set up in support of the strategy. This will include attending at least one meeting of each WG a year. The CEO will also need to be adept at media interviews and have excellent presentation skills in order to represent TCCA at various industry events. He/she needs to manage relations with the event organiser of Critical Communications series of events and make sure that programme and exhibition are in accordance with the TCCA’s strategy. The CEO is furthermore expected to grow the membership base.
He/she will need to establish good working relationships with the Members to ensure that the Association is meeting their needs, and with other bodies where this assists the strategy. In supporting a global membership, the CEO will need to travel regularly. Although COVID-19 currently prevents this, TCCA’s work and that of our current CEO has continued uninterrupted due to effective online meeting tools. The CEO will need to be fluent in English but location is not an issue.
Our next CEO should have management skills, be visionary, be a good communicator, have experience of committee work, be an efficient manager, accept accountability and operate with tact and diplomacy.
