Sepura’s largest order to date secures 10thGermanfederal state.
Sepura announces the contract award to its partner Selectric Nachrichten-SystemeGmbH for the delivery of up to 37,0000 Sepura TETRA radios to the German federalstate of Rheinland-Pfalz. This substantial contract win closely follows last month’sannouncement which put Selectric and Sepura in the spotlight once again for theaward of the contract from the German federal state of Saarland.
The overall value of the contract with Rheinland-Pfalz amounts to 15.7m and coversa four year framework agreement with the potential for extension by an additionalyear. Sepura radios will be supplied to all public safety users in the state includingPolice, Fire Brigades and Rescue Services. The 37,000 TETRA terminals willinclude approximately 25,000 STP8000 and STP8200 hand-portables, 10,000SRG3900 mobile radios and 1,900 desktop terminals.
Launched at the TETRA World Congress in Singapore in May this year, Sepura’sSTP8200 hand-portable radio has already received accolades from customers from awide variety of sectors world-wide. It combines essential TETRA and PMR (PrivateMobile Radio) features, and the simplicity, ruggedness and high performance whichmake Sepura’s STP series perfect for established Public Safety markets. In addition,the radio’s streamlined user interface and monochrome display, visible under directsunlight, also make it an attractive option for government organisations, campuses,hotels, transport and utilities.
The government of Rheinland-Pfalz chose Sepura radios after a very exhaustive andextensive tender process which ran for fourteen months. Indeed, in order to ensureobjectivity during the official evaluation, Rheinland-Pfalz’s authorities even appointeda Munich-based external consulting company, Bardenheuer, to carry out the tests.
Selectric’s bid with Sepura radios won the competitive tender thanks to superiorscoring in the technical criteria and user tests sections.Kasper Barfoed, Regional Director for Sepura, comments: “This win is extremelyprestigious and significant for Sepura not only because it is indeed our biggest ordervolume-wise to date, but also because it sees our German market leadership soar toan unprecedented height”.
