Sepura wins first major order in Indonesia
30th July 2008–Sepura has won its first major order in Indonesia, to supply TETRA digital radios to the Jakarta State Government. This contract in the Indonesia capital will be delivered by Rohde and Schwarz, Sepura’s partner in Indonesia, which is also providing the infrastructure.
The radios will be used by the city’s maintenance and enforcement teams, and will replace the current analogue system. In a crowded city with a population of over 10 million, the radios will give a secure and reliable service and clear digital audio, to improve communications, either in the form of voice calls or data messaging.
Kevin Graham, Sepura’s Regional Director for Asia Pacific, said: “This is another instance of Sepura’s progress in Asia Pacific where in recent months we’ve broken fresh ground in India, Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines – and now Indonesia.”
Oliver Werning, of Rohde & Schwarz, said: “Sepura was able to offer the client what they needed – easy to operate radios that would work easily on our network infrastructure.”
