Sepura wins East of England Business Award

Sepura has won another East of England Business Award, this time for “International Trade”.

With over 400,000 private companies based in the East of England, the award recognises Sepura’s sustained international growth over the last3 years, during which time international revenue has doubled each year every year. The award was won against tough competition from 44 other shortlisted companies in the region.

This is not the first such prestigious recognition for Sepura; in fact Sepura received the East of England Award for “Best Private Company” of 2003.

In the last few months alone, Sepura has been chosen by the Swedish Police as their exclusive supplier of TETRA radios; delivered its 250,000th radio to the world’s largest transportation company, Russian Railways; strengthened its presence in Germany through a partnership agreement with renowned German systems integrators and formed an Italian subsidiary.

The judges declared that the standard of entries had been exceptionally high and early company presentations had convinced them of Sepura’s outstanding international achievements.

Clive Purvis from the UK Trade and Industry said on giving the award “With over 500 customers in more than 70 countries world-wide Sepura is a real ambassador for the UK”.

Graham Matthews, Managing Director commented on accepting the award “If companies have grandparents, then Sepura’s great grandparent was Pye of Cambridge. Fifty years ago, Pye was the world’s second largest supplier of analogue radios to police officers. Last year, Sepura was the second largest supplier of digital radios to police officers around the world. Thank you for the award that recognises this achievement and special thanks to the Sepura team for their success”.

The 16th annual East of England Business Awards, run by the Cambridge-based leading business publication Business Weekly, were sponsored by international corporations and governmental organisations. The award nominees were judged by leading East of England business executives.
