Sepura grows stronger in China

Sepura is pleased to announce a prestigious contract with the Beijing municipal government’s department for wireless professional affairs and office of information. The order is for the supply of over 700 hand-held and 2000 mobile TETRA radios to the Beijing Police. This win was made possible by the joint efforts of Sepura’s two valued partners in China, Beijing Sonicom and Beijing Yongxin Union Technology.

Another landmark success for Sepura in China is with the traffic administration bureau of Beijing Police, who have chosen Sepura hand-held radios for the Beijing Traffic Police. The tender was issued by the Beijing municipality for the renewal of the Traffic Police’s communications equipment. Sepura won this prominent contract in conjunction with Beijing Sonicom.

Over 100 of Sepura’s SRP2000 sGPSTM hand-held radios will be used by the senior Traffic Police officers in the Chinese capital; this is the first substantial pilot order for this particular branch of the Beijing Police. The terminals were selected as they are the lightest and smallest TETRA radios on the market and, as such, succeed in meeting the specific needs of Beijing’s Traffic Police.

Kevin Graham, Asia Pacific Regional Director for Sepura commented, “These remarkable successes are recognition of Sepura’s commitment and efforts towards the Chinese TETRA market. Sepura welcomes Beijing Police to its extensive family of satisfied Public Safety customers worldwide”.
