Cambridge, 15th July 2015 The Brazilian state of Sergipe has selected a TETRA solution by the Sepura Group for its public safety organisations. The contract, a significant landmark for the Group, was signed earlier this month by the Public Safety Secretariat of the state of Sergipe further to a competitive tender for a full turnkey solution project comprising extensive user trials and very rigorous testing.
The Sepura Group will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of a complete TETRA solution, including the provision of operational assistance and maintenance to the government of Sergipe for the next two years. The new system comprises a command and control centre that will employ up to 15 operators, a TETRA network, to include more than 15 base stations, and in excess of 3,000 hand-portable and mobile radios. The complete system will provide digital communications and coverage to the entire state of Sergipe; in particular, it will deliver secure digital communications to every emergency force including all public safety and rescue organisations.

I believe that its implementation will not only serve to modernise Sergipe’s public safety, but also enable crime reduction – one of the main objectives of every Public Safety organisation. Kasper Barfoed, Sales VP for the Sepura Group commented: “We are extremely proud of this achievement as it’s the first significant contract won by Sepura since the acquisition of Teltronic, and one of the major public safety successes in Latin America. This is also the impressive outcome of outstanding collaboration between our teams and the demonstration of what can be achieved when synergies are truly successful. We must also praise the talent and dedication of the colleagues from a cross-section of the whole organisation who demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism throughout the entire sales cycle”.
Paulo Ferrao, Brazil Country Director for the Sepura Group, said: “Sergipe joins a growing number of Brazilian states selecting TETRA technology for their Public Safety organisations and making TETRA the undisputed, dominant technology with the Public Safety sector in Brazil. Sepura’s expertise in Public Safety at a global level and Teltronic’s knowledge of the Latin American market are undoubtedly the strongest contributing factors in this prestigious sales win.”
