Selex Communications takes part at LAAD 2011

From the 12th to the 15th of April, SELEX Communications, a Finmeccanica company, participates in
LAAD 2011 (Latin America Aerospace and Defense), the main biennial exhibition concerning Defense
and Public Security in Latin America. LAAD takes place at the Riocentro Exhibition & Convention
Center in Rio de Janeiro.

SELEX Communications will introduce its solutions within Finmeccanica exhibition area, in the stand
hall 4 no G30: secure connectivity products for military tactical applications, professional
communications systems, along with CNI (Communication, Navigation & Identification) avionic
systems installed on board of the main fixed- and rotary-wing platforms.

Among military tactical systems, SELEX Communications will present a 4-channel SDR SWave™, in
its vehicular and handheld versions, based on the Software Defined Radio technology, which in the
next few years will represent the standard for all military communications. As to Professional Mobile
Radio (PMR) communications, the company will exhibit some of its solutions and terminals for mission
critical TETRA communications: ElettraSuite BS Node; ElettraSuite PumaT3 Plus; ElettraSuite
PumaT3 ATEX, for potential explosive environments, due to the presence of powder and gas.

Within the CNI Avionic sector, SELEX Communications will display its airborne radio communication
systems family: VHF/UHF SRT-651 for voice and data applications; encryption voice and data device
CM115E; digital multi-modal radio communication systems family DTR100 used in the modern air
traffic control systems; terminal ElettraSuite AS-3000 which, created complying with avionic features,
allows to port TETRA services to helicopters and light aircraft crews; next generation transponder
NGIFF M424, able to meet the wide range of IFF (Identification Friend/Foe) requirements, defined for
the identification of military (Mode 5) and civil (Mode S) aircraft; ANV-353, a next generation Doppler
sensor to measure precisely the speed on three axes, for fixed- and rotary-wing platforms.

SELEX Communications and Brazil.

Since the end of the Nineties, through its branch SELEX Communications do Brasil, the company has
been supplying the Army with tactical area communications systems and short-range communication
solutions to support Navy and Army Special Forces operations; moreover, the subsidiary Sirio Panel
cooperates with Embraer within the main programs for military and civil aircraft, by supplying lighting
systems and control panels for cockpit.

Today SELEX Communications pursues different opportunities within Brazil, especially concerning
professional radio communication systems update programs for the Armed Forces, the Police and
within the transportation sector (both railways and airports), by relying on its solutions for military and
professional communications.

Among the main projects in Latin America, SELEX Communications provided Chile with a system for
tactical communications, the Armed Forces of the Dominican Republic with an integrated
communication system, and Buenos Aires Police with TETRA.
