SELEX Communications and its Russian partner TETRASVYAZ sign three agreements within security communications sector

SELEX Communications further strengthens its leadership in Russia within the market of professional radio communications for emergency and security organizations, by signing three agreements with TETRASVYAZ. These contracts, which extend orders previously awarded, are worth a total value of 4,5 million euro.

The first 2,5 million euro agreement concerns the supply of TETRA equipments (25 radio base stations, one switching node with network management software and 665 PUMA T3 Plus mobile terminals), which will be used to ensure secure and effective communications for the Country’s Special Services within the South Federal District project. SELEX Communications, along with TETRASVYAZ, has been working on this project since 2009, receiving in former times 3,5 million euro orders.

The other two contracts are worth about 2 million euro and involve the supply of TETRA equipments (39 radio base stations and devices for control rooms) for the Winter Olympic Games 2014, which will take place in Sochi. SELEX Communications has already supplied during 2010 about 50 radio base stations and one switching node with management software.

A TETRA network will be created for the Olympic Games; it will provide Krasnodar region where Sochi is situated – including the Russian coastline on the Black Sea, with a 24 hour service. Radio communications via TETRA network represent a key element for both the Games and the whole Krasnodar region’s security. As to Sochi, the partnership with TETRASVYAZ started at the end of 2009 and all activities are expected to be completed within 2012.
