  • Bad Münder, 29. 11. 2013

Piraeus Container Terminal is a company commenced operations in 2009 and will be converted into the first large scale state-of-art modern container terminal in Greece. Piraeus Container Terminal is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the world leading container terminal operator COSCO Pacific Limited.

Hytera Mobilfunk has, in corporation with the Greece companies Network Business Solutions and Rohde & Schwarz Hellas, been awarded to supply the TETRA infrastructure for PCT. The full blown ACCESSNET®-T IP TETRA system of Hytera Mobilfunk GmbH is to be used for mission critical voice and data communications on the premises of the Piraeus Container Terminal.

The network design provides an extremely robust communication system; it completely avoids “single point of failure” and is designed to meet all customer needs with regards to secure and reliable TETRA communications. The distributed architecture of PCT network offers, apart from the better flexibility, an increased robustness of the systems against the failure of individual locations. In addition, TETRA application dispatcher and PABX/PSTN gateways interface are distributed in the entire network, especially directly at locations for base stations.
