Motorola will deploy Chiles largest TETRA private communication system in Forestal Mininco
Aside from contributing to forest fire prevention and control, this technology will help unify the company’s radio communication and digitally communicate Forestal Mininco’s staff and related companies, delivering high-quality communications, security, and scalability for future requirements
Santiago, October 29th 2009.- Motorola’s Enterprise Mobility Solutions will deploy Chile’s and one of Latin America’s largest TETRA radio communication system, which will help enhance Forestal Mininco’s operations in the areas of Maule, Bio-Bio and La Araucana, spanning over 41,411.43 km2.
This technology will entail radio communication coverage throughout 14 sites and a mobile unit that will help extend said coverage and traffic scope, including 100 base radios, 600 vehicle-mounted mobile devices, and 600 portable handsets for employees. In addition, Motorola will be responsible for the management and maintenance of these devices.
“Motorola’s TETRA system will enable Forestal Mininco to feature a world-class radio communication solution, which will help enhance logistics, processes, and communications tasks, increasing safety and operating efficiency thanks to the capabilities featured by this technology”, explained Gabriel Contesse, General Manager, Motorola Chile.
This platform will allow for centralized system management through a control center featuring three consoles, allowing for the inclusion of staff into various conversations or the management of video surveillance for forest fire prevention and control.
The deployment of this technology will feature a migration, restructuring, and training process for both the staff that will interact with these systems and all the devices that will migrate from analogue handsets into the digital TETRA solution.
The second phase will entail the inclusion of data transmission and AVL (Automatic Vehicle Location) technology.
