Motorola Showcases Wireless Broadband Solutions for Enhanced Public Safety at BAPCO 2008
Demonstrating the Use of Mobile Data to Combat Crime
Basingstoke, UK – 23 April 2008 – Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced it will be showcasing Motorola’s portfolio of TETRA devices and mobile broadband solutions at BAPCO 2008. The wireless voice and data solutions will show how public safety can be better supported and the ways emergency service teams can benefit from next generation wireless infrastructure.

At BAPCO, Motorola will highlight recent case studies, including Dorset Police, demonstrating how the integration of wireless technology with TETRA networks can boost security and enable real-time communications.
The wireless broadband network trialled by Dorset Police shows how a mobile video and data network can be quickly deployed for specific, high-risk security situations or events.

In addition, Motorola will be sharing new developments such as data over TETRA with TETRA Enhanced Data Service (TEDS), in addition to the new applications enabled on the devices.The TETRA devices range from standard terminals to ‘special use’ devices such as PDAs (for secure data applications), covert TETRA radios and a TETRA ATEX device for safe use in explosive environments.
