Kymenlaakso Rescue deploys backup network with Northcom and DAMM

24 September 2024 – The Kymenlaakso Rescue Department, one of Finland’s 22 regional rescue services, has successfully implemented a failsafe critical communication backup network through a collaborative project with Northcom and DAMM Cellular Systems.

The new system ensures that seamless critical communication is maintained with Kymenlaakso rescue departments and paramedics, even in exceptional situations where traditional networks might fail.

The necessity for this project arose from the need for a reliable backup network that can provide uninterrupted communication within the region during exceptional situations.

Based on DAMM’s reliable and robust infrastructure, the solution, chosen for its ease of deployment and operational efficiency, offers standalone communication capabilities that function independently if the main network is compromised.

Phase One of the project, which includes the installation of four DAMM MultiTech BS422 base stations, has been completed successfully and is operational.
