ITELAZPI awards TELTRONIC the contract to supply a TETRA network for the Basque Country
March 2008 – The PAMR operator Itelazpi, owned by the Basque Regional Government (Spain), awarded the consortium Teltronic-CYS Group with a contract to supply a TETRA network to provide professional mobile radio communication services (voice and data) in the Basque Country. The contract involves a turnkey supply of a NEBULA network with three switching nodes and 140 site base stations which will allow coverage of the whole Basque territory. The new network is oriented to public safety at a local level, railway, trams, buses and other profiles. The capacity of the existing Itelazpi backbones, strengthened with the Teltronic technological capabilities and the local support and logistics of CYS GROUP will allow the development of custom applications for a wide range of users, in which other wireless complementary technologies will be used to bring wide band access to the users.
