Elancourt, 15 November 2016 – Based on its recent analysis of the Next Generation (NG) 911 contact handling solution market, the consulting company Frost & Sullivan recognizes Airbus DS Communications with the Frost & Sullivan NG 911 Company of the Year Award 2016. According to the consultancy, Airbus DS Communications’ flagship VESTA product suite is the most comprehensive Next Generation 911 emergency call solution in the market.
Airbus DS Communications, the American arm of Airbus Defence and Space Secure Land Communications, has evolved beyond merely plugging the gaps left by traditional carriers to become a competitive exchange carrier in its own right. In addition to call handling, it delivers communications network as well as routing and database services.
“We are honoured that Frost & Sullivan commends our steadfast commitment to an industry in an era of transition to full Next Generation 911,” said Bob Freinberg, CEO of Airbus DS Communications. “This award is a tribute to all Airbus DS Communications employees who support our customers every day. This is a time where ‘Critical Matters’ will matter the most.”
Airbus DS Communications provides customers with a comprehensive transition strategy from legacy systems to a unified next generation multichannel 911 system. As an example, the VESTA Router solution for advanced call routing replaces aging systems with a solution that provides IP Selective Routing. It allows an upgrade to a full i3 emergency service-routing proxy and emergency call-routing function.
“Airbus DS Communications’ solutions are easily shareable and remotely manageable. They replace repetitive software configurations at individual workstations,” said Brendan Read, Frost & Sullivan Senior Industry Analyst. “The solutions are flexible with an open architecture that can accommodate geodiversity, cut costs, eliminate the need for traditional PBXes, and provide business continuity.”
Other value-added functionality includes the text-to-911 application, VESTA SMS, that integrates with the company’s flagship solution, VESTA 911. Since its launch in 2012, more than 10,000 call handling positions of the VESTA 911 solution have shipped. VESTA admirably and productively serves North American public safety answering points (PSAPs) in major metropolitan areas and rural regions alike.
“In addition to tailoring its solutions to meet the needs of PSAPs, Airbus DS Communications offers a strong customer-focused service and support process for them,” noted Brendan Read. “It walks customers through each step of the hardware and software implementation process. It delivers best-in-class service and support throughout the lifecycle of the solution.”
Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that demonstrates excellence in terms of growth strategy and implementation. The award recognizes a high degree of innovation and leadership with respect to customer value and market penetration. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through interviews, analysis and extensive research to identify best practices in the industry.
Having garnered more than 60% market share in its core call-handling business in North America, Airbus DS Communications successfully forayed into the communications networks and Next-Generation 911 services market.
