EADS Defence & Security launches TETRA solutions for new frequency bands
–Makes TETRA solutions available to new customer segments in the Asia Pacific area
-Shows that EADS Defence & Security adapts to customer needs
27 May 2008 – EADS Defence & Security announces new frequency bands for its THR880i Ex and TMR880i terminals and its TB3 TETRA base station.
The intrinsically safe THR880i Ex radio, the most advanced and easiest to use TETRA ATEX radio on the market, is now available also for 380 MHz frequency band. The TMR880i mobile radio as well as the TB3 base station are also available for the 800MHz frequency band, making in effect these products available to many new customers in the Asia Pacific area in particular.
The TB3 is thus available in the following frequency bands: 350, 380, 410, 450, and 800 MHz. First deliveries of the latter already took place in China in December 2007.
“The introduction of the EADS TB3 TETRA base station variant for the 800 MHz band further expands our strong TETRA portfolio and makes our TETRA solutions available for the many customers in the Asia Pacific area who can use the 800 MHz frequency band,” says Franois Begaud, CEO of EADS Secure Networks Asia Pacific. “We are pleased to be able to bring the benefits of coverage, reliability and eco-friendliness of the TB3 to an even wider range of customers.”
“The launch of our products for these new frequency bands supports EADS’ ambition to bring TETRA radio communication solutions to all demanding professionals’ reach” says Eric Davalo, Chief Technical Officer of EADS Secure Networks.
Today, EADS TETRA solutions are in use in 85 live networks in more than 40 countries around the world.
