EADS Defence & Security added a smart terminal management solution to its TETRA portfolio

28 May 2008 – EADS Defence & Security announced the introduction of a new smart, secure and scalable solution for TETRA terminal management: TAQTO™.

This new terminal management solution is expanding the TETRA portfolio and added-value of EADS Secure Networks. It simplifies the roll-out of terminals and management of large installed base by enabling fast and cost-efficient deployment and maintenance. TAQTO™ is able to manage the whole EADS TETRA terminal family i.e. THR880i, THR880i Ex, THR880i Light, TMR880i and TDR880i models, thus avoiding redundant equipment costs.

The new solution is adaptable and scalable so as to fit different user needs through a local or networked configuration. Besides, it has been designed around an intelligent user management with role-based access control.

Operational and logistics efficiencies derive from its centralised data management and multi-flashing and parametering capabilities as well as remote controlling over IP network. TAQTO™ offers a secure and reliable connectivity between the server and the client applications. The system administrator manages the server application for defining the user access rights and the terminal update procedures. The client application connects the terminals with the solution and shows the status of the terminals’ update procedure. The benefits of these features are reinforced by secure and automatic operations and the intuitive and interactive user interface of the solution. The remote management avoids both unnecessary travel costs and their related carbon footprint.

As for other EADS TETRA solutions, critical information are thus fully secured. Centralised data management makes it possible to handle critical information in a single point, ensuring information consistency and providing situation awareness over the terminal installed base.
