Twente regional police force in the Netherlands has equipped its motorcycle fleet with Sepura TETRA radios. This sales win follows Sepura’s recent prestigious contract with Rotterdam Police and is yet another successful outcome of Sepura’s close cooperation with its local partner Abiom.
Twente Police selected the Colour Console and SRG3900 mobile radio for its remarkable IP67 rating waterproof performance. In particular, the police force was impressed with the Console’s user-friendly User Interface with its large high-resolution and easy-to-read, colour display and the availability of Day and Night modes. In addition, the single key-press operation is also a very attractive feature for the police force’s motorcycle users.
Ronald Kaalverink from Twente Police commented: “The benefits of Sepura radios to our Police Force are undoubtedly countless. In particular, the radios’ gateway function and superior audio quality will help make communications more reliable”. Mr Kaalverink continued: “We are also extremely pleased with the high levels of service and support provided by Abiom which range from the creation of a specific ruggedised IP67 bracket to the installation of the entire communication solution on our motorbikes.”
Bas de Grood, CEO and owner of Abiom, said: “The communication systems installed on the force’s BMW motorcycles have been operational since spring 2011. The outstanding performance of Sepura’s motorcycle solutions was instrumental in the force’s decision to order further motorcycle solutions and Sepura’s SRG3900 mobile radios for their other vehicles”.
The region of Twente is located in the eastern part of the Netherlands and comprises approximately 620,000 inhabitants spread in the cities of Almelo, Hengelo and Enschede.
