Cassidians TETRA communications system successfully secured the 2nd Asian Youth Games in 2013

Cassidians TETRA communications network successfully provided the Chinese authorities with stable, reliable and efficient communication services during the entire 2nd Asian Youth Games in Nanjing.

Starting with the inauguration held on August 16th, the system catered for the security needs of all 27 related facilities accommodating all 122 events for 16 sport disciplines, as well as major cultural and educational activities like the “Asian Culture Village”, “Youth Festival” inside the Athletes’ Village and “Touch Nanjing” located outside the Village. A team of Cassidian experts from Finland, France, and China provided 24 hour-a-day on-site support to ensure that the network operated reliably and seamlessly. They implemented a dozen system rehearsals before the games.

Cassidian together with its strategic partner CETC-7 Ltd. (China Electronic Science and Technology Group Corporation No.7 Research Institute) as the system integrator, have been building the shared TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio) communication network for the Nanjing municipal government. This brand-new TETRA network contains Cassidian’s state-of-the-art TETRA IP technologies and equipment including: DXT3 switch, TB3 base stations, THR880i terminals and a dispatcher workstation system.
