Richardson, Texas, March 11, 2013 – Cassidian Communications Inc., an EADS North America company, today announced its TETRA radio solutions are available to corporate customers in the U.S. and Canada—initially within utility, transportation and industrial markets. TETRA solutions will improve operational efficiency for companies in need of advanced and secure voice and data communications.
Already a leading provider of P25 radio networks for public safety, Cassidian Communications continues its commitment to non-proprietary solutions with the introduction of its open, standards-compliant TETRA network infrastructure and radios for corporate customers in the U.S. and Canada.
Utility, transportation and industrial companies require and depend upon the operational efficiencies delivered by private Land Mobile Radio (LMR) every day – especially when facing potential threats like bad weather, accidents and equipment failures. Versatile, reliable and available at all times, Cassidian Communications’ TETRA solutions provide the excellent voice quality and efficient data services (i.e. Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition applications), ensuring vital messages get through whenever and wherever they are needed.
“This is a monumental day for companies that demand reliable communication systems,” said Bob Freinberg, CEO, Cassidian Communications. “Customers worldwide depend on our TETRA solutions for flawless communication under the most arduous conditions. We are confident that our seamless TETRA solutions will deliver the same reliable and secure voice and data communications to utility, transportation and industrial customers in North America as well.”
The TETRA solutions now offered to companies in North America by Cassidian Communications have been deployed in more than 130 networks around the world. For example, BOSNet, a TETRA network deployment in Germany, will be the largest digital network in the world, with more than 3,000 sites and more than a million users on a single, nationwide network.
“Having deployed numerous nationwide land mobile radio networks, we have the experience and expertise to undertake any project regardless of size or complexity,” said Francois Begaud, chief operating officer of Cassidian Communications’ LMR/LTE business unit. “With its ability to seamlessly combine voice and data communications, our TETRA solutions provide users with the flexibility to use whichever medium is most appropriate to the situation and the information they need to share.”
Cassidian Communications serves clients ranging from public safety operations to Federal agencies to Fortune 1000 corporations. The company has more than 40 years of experience deploying mission-critical communications solutions for 9-1-1 call taking and emergency notification, and first-responder digital trunked radio networks like TETRA overseas and P25 in North America.
