Bittium Delivers More Secure Tough Mobile™ 2 Smartphones to Swedish Authorities

05 June 2023 – Tutus, a Swedish expert in certified network encryption solutions, has made an additional order for secure Bittium Tough Mobile™ 2 smartphones – the order is a continuation of the Bittium Tough Mobile 2 device delivery made at the end of 2022. Tutus Data AB is the main supplier in Sweden of certified IT security products approved by the Swedish government. The cooperation between Bittium and Tutus began in 2020, that led into a development of a high-level security mobile solution which combines Bittium’s secure Bittium Tough Mobile 2 smartphone platform and Tutus’ encryption solution approved by the Swedish government. Tutus delivers these smartphones, designed especially for critical communication, to a large Swedish authority. The devices will be delivered to the end customer during the first half of 2023.

Bittium Tough Mobile™ 2 is fully designed and manufactured in Finland and Bittium ensures supervised and secure manufacturing and supply of the smartphones to the customers. Also, the component and software solutions of the phone can be audited for use by authorities. Bittium Tough Mobile™ 2 has a significantly longer availability and lifespan and better availability of security updates compared to conventional smartphones. The unique information security built within the smartphone includes several encryptions- and authentication features, tamper-proof information security platform as well as a privacy mode. With a touch of a button, it is possible to disable microphones, camera and Bluetooth, and the accuracy of sensors is reduced.
