Argentina’s Province of Neuquen and Santiago de Chile Metro take the train to TETRA with Teltronic

Teltronic supplied a TETRA network and two dispatching centres to Damovo for the Ministry of Security of the argentinian province of Neuquen.

This sustem, formed by 36 base stations (two of them vehicle mounted for fast deployment in case of emergencies), 2 redundant switches, 2 dispatching centres (7 operators each) with gateways to RDSI, GSM, PMR and analogue telephony, and 1600 terminals. Voice and data recording is available (120 channels).

The Neuquen Police, Fire Brigades, Civil Protection, high government officials and other users do take advantage of TETRA as a common and powerful solution which allows a high performance at reasonable costs. Both urban and rural environments are served by the network and, also, those unpredictable emergencies which occur outside the TETRA coverage area can be addressed by means of the highly flexible and fastly deployable mobile base stations. Such vehicle mounted sets do include a TETRA base station and link equipment to get access to the backbone wherever possible. Different types of vehicles, including helicopters, are being considered to act as platforms for such fast TETRA deployments. The network is managed and operated by Damovo.
