Airbus Defence and Space launches Ectocryp Yellow, the latest addition to the Encryption Portfolio

Ectocryp Yellow meets the highest standards set by UK Government for encryption technology.

Airbus Defence and Space announces the launch of their latest high grade encryption device. Ectocryp Yellow is Airbus Defence and Space’s next stage in sovereign UK cryptographic development and utilises CESG’s preferred solution for network layer cryptography (PRIME* Suite A). The Airbus Defence and Space family of Ectocryp cryptographic devices now includes this small form factor, portable device. Ectocryp Yellow is a desktop, interoperable basis for highly secure strategic and tactical networks.

The software can be fully updated in the field and upgrades can be performed remotely for deployed units. With insignificant latency, Ectocryp Yellow eliminates the overhead of crypto on a network and provides transparent operation to users. Ectocryp Yellow has received full certification under the CAPS1 (CESG Assisted Products Service) scheme from the UK National Technical Authority for Information Assurance.

Airbus Defence and Space cryptography solutions facilitate the protection of sensitive data for all organisations. The core product in the Ectocryp family is Blue, which is Europe’s only HAIPE-certified** remotely operated cryptographic device. The Ectocryp Blue solution can transfer information classified up to Top Secret across public networks allowing organisations to minimise the risk of cyber attack. The Ectocryp family includes versions that are being exported to countries from the USA to the Middle East.

*PRIME is CESG’s preferred standard for encrypting all types of Government information across networks. Devices are tested at an independent lab using a test process to confirm that they comply with the standard. Devices that have successfully completed this test process are recognised by CESG as PRIME devices

** HAIPE = High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor.

1 The CAPS scheme evaluates encryption devices against UK Government cryptographic standards for use by UK Government and other appropriate organizations for data classified up to UK Top Secret.
